It was the coldest, windiest Cinco de Mayo in memory and the rain occasionally made an appearance, but supporters of GMC JC Athletics still came out in a strong showing to support the 2017 GMC/Lew Cordell Memorial Golf Tournament and BBQ held this year at Harbor Club.
Thirty two teams took off on the shotgun start and a lot of good golf and great fun ensued in this event that is annually conducted by the GMC JC Booster Club to help support JC Athletics at Georgia Military College. "This tournament is a tremendous help in supporting what we do to make our athletics department the best in the NJCAA, but most importantly in continuing to support endowing athletic scholarships so that young men and women can continue to have the opportunity to come to GMC," commented GMC Athletic Director & Head Football Coach Bert Williams. "The generous help of our tournament sponsors, hole sponsors, and those that took the time to support, play, and enjoy this event really make a difference in what we do."
