Strong Start for GMC Men's Golf at Reinhardt Invitational

The GMC Men's Golf team are in a good position heading into the final round of the Reinhardt University Invitational at Callahan Links in Waleska, GA. The Bulldogs sit only 4 shots out of first place behind the host Eagles who posted a team score of 293 while the Bulldogs posted a 297 on their first day of competition of the Fall season.  The solid play by the Bulldogs was bolstered by the hot play of Floris Veth (FR, Netherlands) who posted 4 under, 68 round that featured 4 birdies and no bogeys. Adam Price (FR, Ireland) and Niklas Frimodig (FR, Sweden) both posted solid rounds of 75 to help with team effort.  Ashton Denton (FR, Thomasville GA) and Tanner Casey (FR, Covington GA) rounded out the scoring with a pair of 79's.  

The host Reinhardt University Eagles sit atop the leaderboard with a 293 score with Bryan College right behind them at 295. The Georgia Military College Bulldogs sit in 3rd place with a 297 while Truett-McConnell is only 2 shots back at 299.  Floris Veth is tied for first by posting a 68 with Ben Dulin from Reinhardt University.  He will be looking for his first tournament win on American soil as they tee off together at 9:30am.  Evans Nichols (Reinhardt) and Nick Scully (Bryan College) sit 4 shots back of the leaders after posting 72's.

10:00am Tanner Casey

10:10am Ashton Denton

"Overall, I'm very proud of our performance in the first round against some tough competition.  We are in a good position headed into the final round and if we do a better job of managing the course, I think we can improve on today's score," stated Head Coach Josh Miller.
