GMC JC Rifle Takes on Clemson University at Home

Georgia Military College Bulldog Rifle Team met with Clemson University at the Parnell Ruark Athletic Complex Saturday, February 18, 2017 at 7:30 in the morning.   This competition was to help prepare the teams for the NRA Intercollegiate Nationals on March 16-20, 2017 at Ft. Benning, Georgia.

In the first event of small bore Rachel Mangan of Clemson shot a score of 533, followed by Za'Cori Ross who had a 495.  Hansen Mou scored a 480. Their team was short one member but they were able to shoot a team score of 1508.  Georgia Military College Bulldog team was led by Cadet Tristian Swann, as his father and brother watched from the side lines.  He had a score of 504, followed by Liliana Reyes with a 498 and Cadet Emily Stefurak 498.  The tie was broken by the number of tens in the first series and Liliana Reyes was the top shooter with three tens . She also had members in the audience cheering her on. Cadet Jeffrey Glass was fourth shooter with a score of 451 for a GMC team combined score of 1951.

In the second event, which was air rifle, Clemson's top shooter was Rachel Mangan with a 560, followed by Za'Cori Ross and his score of 559.  Their third shooter Hansen Mou had a 525.  Cadet Maya Neal, who was a substitute for Clemson from GMC and in her first competition, shot a 417.  Clemson's combined team score was 2061.  Liliana Reyes led the air rifle team with a score of 543.  Cadet Tristian Swann was second with a score of 531 and Cadet Emily Stefurak had a 525.  Cadet Jeffrey Glass, shot his personal best with a score of 486.  GMC's combined score was a 2085.

When the two event scores were combined GMC had a 4036 to Clemson's 3569. Great job GMC BULLDOGS!!
