The Bulldogs Traveled to Florida to compete in a Weekend Tournament

This past weekend the Bulldogs (8-10) traveled to Florida to build momentum continuing on into the season.

Game One was a rough start to the day versus Mississippi Gulf Coast as the Bulldogs offense could only put together one hit. Mississippi Gulf Coast opened up the game in the bottom of the first with a 3 run homerun and scored another on a sacrifice ground ball to put them up 4-0 in the bottom of the first.

No action until the bottom of the 3rd where Mississippi Gulf Coast put 3 more on the board including a two run home run to extend the lead to 7.

Mississippi Gulf Coast closed in out in the bottom of the 5th with one more run to end the game 8-0.

The Bulldogs looked to bounce back in Game Two versus Snead State College after a tough first game. They got on the board with four quick runs in the bottom of the first with 4 quick runs including an RBI single by Jade Moncrief. They kept the momentum going the next inning with a 2 RBI single by Danielle Downs to extend the lead to six.

In the top of the 3rd Snead State got on the board with a solo home run but the Bulldogs came right back in the fourth in with a four run inning to put the lead at 10-1 which Snead State could not recover from and ended up losing 10-2.

GMC played their last game of the day versus Lakeland College trying to put together a winning record for the day.

The Bulldogs scored first in the 2nd inning on an RBI single by Caitlin Collins to go up 1-0. Lakeland leveled the score a one a piece in the bottom of the 2nd.

In the 3rd, Kiley Rediger doubled to drive in two more runs to reclaim the lead for the Bulldogs at 3-1. After those two runs, the Bulldog offense went stagnant as Lakeland College took the lead the next half in with four runs and didn't look back.

They scored 3 more runs in the sixth inning to make the score 8-3 in Lakeland College's favor and that's how the final game of the day would end for the Bulldogs.
