The GMC Softball Team bounces back and picks up Two Wins at Home

In the Game One, a seven-run explosion in the second inning carried the Bulldogs (11-12) to an impressive 11-3 win in five innings over Chattahoochee Valley Community College at Milledgeville, Ga on Sunday.   The Bulldogs scored in the second on an RBI single by Jade Moncrief, an error, a groundout by Danielle Downs, a two-run single by Kiley Rediger, and an error by Chattahoochee Valley CC. Kirsten Albright led the Bulldogs' offensive attack, as she got on base two times in the game.  Kristen scored three runs and had one RBI when she doubled in the fifth inning. The Bulldogs scored two runs in the third inning, and then followed it up with two more in the fifth.  The Bulldogs scored on an RBI double by Kirsten Albright and an RBI double by Danna Downs to round out the impressive 11-3 win. 

In Game Two, after four lead changes  the Bulldogs (12-12) pulled out a 4-3 win over Chattahoochee Valley Community College.   The Bulldogs scored on a two-run single by Ashtin Burton off Vann, bringing home Sara Alderman and Jordan Crews to pick up the win in the bottom of the 7th.

Ansley Wilbanks had a hot bat for the Bulldogs as she went 2-4 and scored one run. She singled in the first and third innings.  The Bulldogs jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the bottom of the third. The Bulldogs got things going when Ansley Wilbanks singled.  A single by Danielle Downs then moved Ansley Wilbanks from first to third. Chattahoochee Valley Community College pushed across one run in both the sixth inning and the seventh. In the sixth, Chattahoochee Valley Community College scored on an RBI single by Flowers, plating Atkins.  The winning runs came from a big two-run single by Ashtin Burton to close out Chattahoochee Valley Community College.

The GMC Softball Team will be back in action on Wednesday, February 24th when they hit the road to play Piedmont College JV with a 3pm and 5pm first pitch.
