GMC Softball grab two wins in Florida

In Game One against Santa Fe College, Jenni McDaniel drove in the winning run to give the Bulldogs (14-16) the lead in the eighth inning, and the Bulldogs hung on to beat Santa Fe College 3-1 on Thursday in Marianna,Florida.

With the game scoreless in the eighth inning Jenni McDaniel came to the plate and singled the deciding run.  The Bulldogs staved off Santa Fe College as Santa Fe College was unable to match the Bulldogs down the stretch.

Santa Fe College scored one run in the eighth on an RBI single by Vega but Santa Fe College wasn't able to take the lead back.  

In Game Two, Danielle Downs came up big at the dish and on the rubber, leading the Bulldogs (14-16) to a 7-0 win over Santa Fe College on Thursday at Gainesville, FL.

Danielle Downs racked up four RBIs on one hit for the Bulldogs as she homered in the seventh inning. Danielle Downs put together a nice outing on the mound as well as Santa Fe College managed just one hit off of the Bulldogs' pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out one during her seven innings of work.

Everything was working at the plate for the the Bulldogs in the seventh in which the Bulldogs scored five runs. The game's last lead change went to the Bulldogs thanks to a fourth inning rally that saw two runs cross the plate on an RBI double by Kiley Rediger and an RBI single by Jordan Crews

The Bulldogs continue their road trip through Florida with a double header scheduled for Friday, March 4th against Florida State College in Jacksonville, FL.  The first pitch is scheduled for 1pm.
