The Bulldogs Pound out 22 Runs in a Sweep of ABAC to close the Regular Season

The Bulldogs (32-22) jumped out to an early lead on ABAC and captured a 12-0 victory on Tuesday at Milledgeville, Ga.  Eleven runs in the first three innings allowed the Bulldogs to put the game away early.

A two-run single by Danielle Downs and an RBI single by Sara Alderman during the first inning and a home run by Jordan Crews, an RBI single by Sara Alderman, and a two-run double by Ansley Wilbanks in the second inning fueled the Bulldogs' offense early.  Jordan Crews continued the hot hitting as she racked up five RBIs on two hits for the Bulldogs.

The Bulldogs' Madason Messer kept ABAC off the scoreboard for all five innings she was in the circle as she pitched a shutout, allowing no opposing players to cross the plate on three hits while ringing up two.

The Bulldogs scored one run in the third inning, and then followed it up with one more in the fourth. In the third, the Bulldogs scored on an RBI double by Kirsten Albright, scoring Jade Moncrief.

In Game two, the Bulldogs (32-22) beat ABAC 10-2 to tie the record for most wins in a season.

The Bulldogs scored four runs in the sixth on an RBI single by Kiley Rediger, a two-run single by Amber Green, a two-run single by Amber Green, and an RBI double by Sara Alderman who had two extra-base hits for the Bulldogs in the game.

Danielle Downs was a workhorse on the rubber for the Bulldogs as she pitched six innings and allowed no earned runs, six hits and no walks while striking out one.  She got plenty of help from her teammates at the plate as Jade Moncrief, Sara Alderman and Kiley Rediger helped lead the Bulldogs combining for seven hits and five RBIs.

The Bulldogs jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the bottom of the second with Jade Moncrief kicking things off for the Bulldogs with a single. A stolen base then moved Jade Moncrief from first to second. Sara Alderman doubled, scoring Jade Moncrief. And more runs came home for the Bulldogs when Sara Alderman scored on an RBI single by Jenni McDaniel.  The Bulldogs didn't relinquish the lead after scoring four runs in the third inning when they scored on a two-run error and two singles.

This double header win closes out the regular season for the Bulldogs and now will have a little over a week to prepare for the upcoming Conference Championship that starts next Thursday, April 28th and runs through April 30th.
