GMC JC Softball Repeat at GCAA Conference Champions

This past weekend for the second year in a row, the Georgia Military College softball team will be going to the NJCAA National Championship Tournament. The Bulldogs defeated the fourth seeded East Georgia Bobcats 7-0 in the GCAA tournament which went all the way to the championship "IF" game to determine the champion.

The second-seeded Bulldogs took the long road through the Region 17 double-elimination tournament having to play five games and win 3 consecutive games coming out of the losers bracket. GMC had to defeat the Bobcats twice after losing to them earlier in the tournament in the winners bracket.

The next stop for the Bulldogs (46-15) is St. George, Utah, for the NJCAA national tournament May 17th thru the 20th.  There will be more information posted once tournament brackets are released.

The GMC Bulldogs, after opening with a win in the GCAA Championship over Georgia Highlands, 4-3, dropped their next game to East Georgia State, 6-5, to fall into the losers bracket.  They responded to that loss by coming back the next day and beating Georgia Highlands again, 7-6, and then the back to back wins over East Georgia State College by outscoring them 16-2 and taking the championship.
