GMC Cross Country at Mercer University

GMC Cross Country at Mercer University

The GMC Cross Country teams will run the Mercer University Julius Johnson Invitational at the Macon Children's Industrial Home this Friday evening, September 23rd.  There are 9 teams scheduled to participate, among them two NCAA Division I schools, two NCAA Division II schools, one NCAA Division III school, one NAIA school and three NJCAA schools.  GMC is looking to maintain the momentum they have from their previous two meets.  "It is always fun to compete in meets with Division I runners" head coach Rob Sherwood said.  "This gives our runners a great chance to see how they stack up." The same course will serve as the location for the GCAA Championships on October.  "One of the other reasons we run this race is so that the runners can see the course where they will be running for the Conference Championship.  It give the team a great baseline for performance to compare their later race with."

Admission is free.  The men run at 5:45 p.m. and the women at 6:30 p.m.
