This week the women's golf team traveled to Chateau Elan Resort to compete in the AAC Fall Preview. The Bulldogs played well against a field comprised mostly of four-year schools, finishing 10th out of 14 teams. Freshman Macy Williams posted her lowest score as a Bulldog 84-85 169 to finish T26.

Every freshman on the team appears to be honing in on their games as they all posted lower scores than their last time out. Gabby Clay took the most significant jump improving by 21 strokes, and posted (91-91-182) to finish T51. Coach Van Horn commented, "Gabby hit it well; as she improves on the greens, her score will drop even more." Kaitlyn Brower finished 59th improving by 16 strokes (101-96-197), and Emily Carter beat her previous outing by posting 106-98 204 and 60th. Sophomore Jada Arnold rounded out the scoring for the Bulldogs. Coach Van Horn commented, "All the girls hit the ball well, especially off the tee, but you have to be pinpoint accurate on your approach shots to have a chance to score well." The Chateau Elan greens are known to be hard and fast. The Bulldogs had to get accustomed to the course; after a post-first-round putting review, Van Horn had the girls dialed in for day two and virtually eliminated the dreaded three-putt, which plagued the team on day one. "I think the girls are starting to embrace the process; with each day, they learn more and more about what it takes to be competitive at this level.", Van Horn stated.

This event ends the Bulldogs fall season, they will be back in action in March as they prepare to host the First Annual Lake Sinclair Invitational on April 24-25 at The Club at Lake Sinclair.
