GMC JC Women’s Soccer Tops Andrew 9-0

The GMC Women's Soccer team hosted Andrew College Tigers on Sunday for a 9-0 win. Carson Griffin scored two goals and assisted on another, and Helena Scott made one save, picking up her first shutout of the season.

The Bulldogs came out ready to play and scored quickly as Carson Griffin scored her first of the game within the first minute of play. The Bulldogs scored three more times in the half as Giselle Funes, Madison Nimmons, and Lilly Broersma found the back of the net.

The second half saw much of the same as the Tigers had no answer for the Bulldogs attack. Three quick goals in the first 5 minutes of the half, one each by Annah Norman, Nikki Blake, and Carson Griffin's second goal of the game, sealed the deal. Elise Chafin and Camila Penagos scored late in the game to round out the Bulldogs scoring.

With seven players scoring, this win was a total team effort, and just in time, the Bulldogs have now won two in a row and building momentum for the playoffs.

On Wednesday, April 19, the team hits the road when they travel to South Georgia State College for a 4 pm match-up.
