GMC JC Women’s Golf Takes 3rd at Inaugural Bulldog Lake Sinclair Invitational

On Sunday, the GMC JC Women's Golf team hosted the first-ever collegiate golf tournament in Baldwin County, the Bulldog Lake Sinclair Invitational at The Club at Lake Sinclair. The field consisted of a mix of NAIA and NJCAA teams. The Bulldogs placed third in the event, with Macy Williams picking up her fifth consecutive top 15 finish shooting an 85-83=168.

The Club at Lake Sinclair showed its teeth Sunday as a host of collegiate women descended on the property. Slick greens and tricky pin positions kept the course challenging all day as the women battled through this 36 hole event. NAIA College of Coastal Georgia took the win shooting a 650 and placing three players on the All-Tournament team. Macy Williams led the Bulldogs to 3rd place and earned a spot on the All-Tournament team. Kaitlyn Bower finished 10th and Gabby Clay 11th after shooting 11 strokes better in her second round. Emily Carter and Jada Arnold rounded out the scoring for the Bulldogs.

The team now sets its sights on the National Championships, which begins on May 10 at Plantation Bay Golf and Country Club in Ormond Beach, FL.
