Austin Quillian and Chloe Howell Win Medalist Honors

The Georgia Military College Men's and Women's Golf Team hosted the 2022 Lake Sinclair Invitational at The Club at Lake Sinclair on March 27-28-28. Austin Quillian captured his first tournament win and led the Men's team to a second-place finish. Chloe Howell took home medalist honors for the women.

Chloe Howell had a strong performance on day one and took a five-shot lead over teammate Macy Williams. The two battled back and forth on day two, but Chloe kept the lead as they both shot the tournament's low round in day two. Freshman Alexa Anderson finished third for the Bulldogs.

Austin Quillian and Browning Benton posted a 74 on day one, two shots off the lead. Quillian came out on fire on day two, posting 68. His 68 was the only sub-par round of the event and earned him his first collegiate tournament victory. Benton shot a 72 on day two and earned 4th place. Braeden McDaniel 11th, Austin Mills 13th, and Tyler Harris round out the team scoring by coming in 14th. Brad Butcher competed as an individual and finished 17th. Emmanuel College won the team event with an impressive 585 over two days.

Excited about the team's success, Coach Gary Guyer commented, "These players have been working hard, and it is now beginning to pay off. We have some important events coming up, including the GCAA Championships for the men and the NJCAA Regional Qualifier for the women, this is a great time to be peaking.
