GMC JC Women’s Golfer Chloe Howell finishes T14 at NJCAA District 5 Championship

Georgia Military College Women's Golfers Macy Williams and Freshman Chloe Howell traveled to Duran Golf Club in Viera, FL. Howell had a strong showing, finished T14, and earned the first alternate position and a possible trip to the NJCAA National Championship.

Macy Williams attempted to qualify for her second National Championship, but things didn't go her way. A few bad bounces and unlucky breaks in round one dropped her out of contention; though she played better in round two, it was not enough to advance to her second Championship. She finishes her career at GMC as the most decorated women's golfer in the program's history. We are looking forward to celebrating her success at Sophomore Day on April 26th.

After a strong season and a lot of hard work, Freshman Chloe Howell had her chance to compete against the best in NJCAA, and she represented well. Howell battled nerves in round one and posted an 85; she hit the ball well, corrected her mistakes, and posted an 80 in the second round to finish T14. Howell earned the first alternate position for a trip to her first NJCAA National Championship. We will know next week if she gets the call to compete.

The NJCAA National Championship will be held May 9-12 at Timacuan Golf and Country Club in Lake Mary, FL. To learn more about GMC JC Athletics, please visit www.gmcbulldogs.com.
