Antonio Rodriquez is entering his first season as the Bulldogs Defensive Coordinator. Rodriquez spent the last three years at Florida State University as a senior defensive analyst and assistant linebacker coach under Head Coach Mike Norvell, one of the youngest Defensive Analysts in FBS college football. Rodriquez worked closely with Defensive Coordinator Adam Fuller, elevating each year with increased defensive coaching roles to help the Seminoles become one of the nation's best defenses in 2022-23 and 2023-24. FSU achieved the #1 ranked team
defense in the ACC, giving up the fewest yards per game in 2023-24. FSU finished the regular season: Top 5 in the nation in scoring defense (fewest points allowed). 2022-23, Rodriquez worked closely with the linebackers to help FSU achieve the #1 total defense (fewest yards given up)in the ACC and the Top 15 in FBS.
Rodriquez also spent four years of defensive coaching at FIU under Super Bowl-winning defensive innovator head coach Butch Davis. Under Davis, he coached at all three levels of the FIU Defense in successive years: Defensive line, secondary, and linebackers, helping staff achieve the highest winning percentage of any FIU head coaching era in the program's history. FIU advanced to two bowl games and had the winningest season in their history, beating cross-town rival University of Miami.
