Men's Golf Competes in Coastal Georgia Invite

 

The Men's JC Golf team competed this past weekend in the Coastal Georgia Invitational 9th thru 11th and finished 14th out of 16 teams, 12 of which were 4 year institutions.

 

The tournament consisted of a three round event. Two rounds (36 holes) on Monday and 18 holes on Tuesday. In the first round GMC shot 312 and ended up in 10th 

 

place out of 16 teams. They started well for their first tournament with Luke Ninneman at 74, Dusty Watts at 74, John James at 82, Kort Kennedy at 82, and Trey May at 85.

 

 

The second round of the day one took its toll as they shot 321 and did not have the energy to improve. Luke at 78, Kort at 79, Dusty at 80, John at 84, and Trey  at 92.

 

At this point we end the day in 14th place. The team shot 321 again and only had 4 competitors that scores were used. The splits for the final round Luke bounces back with a 75 total 227 and ends up T30 th in the tourney, which was a good start for Luke.

Dusty Watts shoots a final round 82 total 236 and ends up T55 th place. Kort finishes up with a 81 total 242 T64 place. Trey May shoots a final round 83 and finished in 78th place. 

 

GMC comes out of the tourney with a lot of work ahead and great experience.

 

Their next tourney will be in the Bulldog JUCO Preview September 24th-25th at Harbor Club in Greenesboro, GA.
