Dave Sexton has completed ten seasons as Head Coach of the Men's soccer team. In 2023, the Bulldogs narrowly missed out on a return to the National Tournament, having qualified for the 12-team tournament on three previous occasions (becoming national semi-finalists in 2021).  The 2023 season saw the Bulldogs becoming Region 17 Champions for the eighth year, qualifying for the Southeast District Tournament for the 8th consecutive year. The team's 2023 record was 11-6-2.  The Bulldogs' overall record under Coach Sexton is 118-49-10.
Before coming to GMC, Coach Sexton spent two years as an assistant coach at Southern Polytechnic State University (NAIA) and one year at Georgia Perimeter College (NJCAA). Before moving to Georgia, Coach Sexton spent 13 years as the Head Coach at Louisburg College in North Carolina. During his time at Louisburg, he compiled an overall record of 196-55-11. The Hurricanes made six trips to the NJCAA National Tournament and were National Semi-Finalist three times under his leadership. While at Louisburg, Coach Sexton was Region X Coach of the Year on eight occasions and Southeast District coach five times. Coach Sexton's overall collegiate head coaching record is 312-100-19 in 23 seasons.
Coach Sexton has 25 years of experience coaching soccer in the U.K. and the U.S. He also has club coaching experience in his native country, England, and ODP experience in North Carolina and Georgia. He holds a Union of European Football Association (UEFA) "A" coaching license and a United States Soccer Federation (USSF) "A" coaching license.
