Georgia Military College Rifle Shoots a Postal Match with Grand Valley University, Michigan

Grand Valley University Rifle Team in Michigan led the small bore postal match with Christian Yap shooting a 547 the first week in October, 2018.  Their team score was an outstanding 2100 to Georgia Military College Co-Ed Rifle Team shooting an 1811.

David Turner of Blackshear, Georgia was top shooter for GMC with a 481, followed by Cadet Brianna Mosteller from Winter Park, Florida with a 460. Cadet Casey Owen of Menomonie, Wisconsin, in his first year of shooting competition, shot a 436 to give him third spot on the team.  Cadet Dejanira Gomez from Stockbridge, Georgia was fifth person on the team with a 435.  The top four shooters scores are the team scores. Cadet Felix Seversen from Johns Creek, Georgia shot a 417.  Cadet Shudrenna Harris of Jacksonville, Florida had a 338 and Cadet Joseph Seabrook of Riverside, California shot a 303. Coach Eaton was very proud of the team as this was the first match for all GMC shooters to compete in small bore.

David Turner, GMC's commuter student, led the team in air rifle with a score of 537.  David took fourth place in the competition with Christian Yap of Grand Valley University scoring a 571 and taking first place.  Cadet Brianna Mosteller was sixth place with scores from both teams, with her score of 514, followed by Cadet Casey Owen and Cadet Dejanira Gomez scoring 507's.  These members were the top four shooters for Georgia Military College.  Other shooters in the match were Cadet Felix Seversen with a 459, Cadet Joseph Seabrook with a 451 and Cadet Shudrenna Harris with a 434. Their four person team score for GMC was 2065 to Grand Valley University's 2175.

The team will be presenting a rifle demonstration on October 19, 2018 from 1:00 to 4:00pm during Alumni Weekend.  The demonstration is open to the public.
