GMC JC Softball takes 2 on the Road

Your #18 Bulldogs were on the road yesterday in Allendale, SC to take on the USC Salkehatchie Indians. They came away with 2 wins to improve their overall record to 5-4.

Game #1

Game 1 started off well for GMC as Salk's pitcher hit the leadoff batter and walked 2 of the next 3 batters. A sacrifice fly by Cathleen Nugue and a 2 RBI single by Taylor Krause lead to a 3-0 lead before Salk to bat. Unfortunately that was all of the offense that the 'Dogs would plate. Pitcher Sarah Middleton held Salk to just 2 runs in 7 innings to get her second win of the year.

Game #2

Game 2 started slowly as neither team scored in the first 2 innings. After a "pep" talk from Coach Bunn in the top of the third inning, the Bulldogs got going scoring 11 runs in the inning. The inning was topped off by Freshman Lauren King's first collegiate home run. Several 'Dogs had a good offensive game with Freshmen Lindsey South (2 RBI) and Kaedy Borst (3RBI) going 3-3. Carly Rigsby was 2-2 and 5 other Bulldogs got a hit in a game that the bench was emptied.  Mackensie Poynter benefitted from the run support and got her second win of the season. Final Score GMC 11- Salkehatchie 1.

The Bulldogs hit the road again this weekend headed to Dothan, AL for the Visit Dothan Invitational. Weather-permitting they have 2 games Friday, 2 games Saturday & 2 games Sunday. Games will be live streamed and information on that will be sent as available.
