Coach Bunn is entering her 14th season as the Head Coach of Georgia Military College. Ashley has continued to raise the quality of the Bulldogs throughout her career seasons. Her overall record going into the 2024 season is 413-265, with the 2017 team providing the most wins in school history at 47. In 2016, Bunn led the team to its first NJCAA Region 17 tournament Championship and earned its first NJCAA National Championship berth. The 2017 campaign saw the Bulldogs win their second straight NJCAA Region 17 Championship tournament. The Bulldogs were named the GCAA Regular Season Champions in 2018, 2019, and 2023, earning Coach Bunn the GCAA Coach of the Year award each season. The Bulldogs once again were Region 17 Champions in back-to-back seasons, 2021 and 2022, sending them to their 3rd and 4th trips to the NJCAA National Championship. During her career at Georgia Military College, Coach Bunn has coached 3 NJCAA All-Americans, Ansley Wilbanks (2016), Danielle Downs (2017), and Avery Mercer (2023), and has helped many players matriculate to four-year schools.

Before becoming the Head Coach at GMC, Coach Bunn spent three seasons as the Graduate Assistant/Assistant Coach at her alma mater, Valdosta State University. During her three seasons at VSU, the Blazers won back-to-back Gulf South Conference Championships in 2009 and 2010, the South Region Championship in 2010, and were NCAA Division 2 National Championship Runner-ups in 2010. Bunn played an instrumental role in the development of the pitching staff.


Ashley, a native of Gray, Georgia, played for two seasons at Chipola College in Marianna, Florida, where she was a pitcher and utility player from 2003-2005. She graduated from Chipola in 2005 with an Associate in Science degree. After graduation, Bunn transferred to Valdosta State University, where she continued her playing career. While at VSU, Bunn received her Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education in the fall of 2007. After graduation, Bunn stayed at VSU as a graduate assistant for the Softball team and completed her Master's Degree in Public Administration in 2010.


Ashley is married to Matt Bunn; they have one child, Maverick.
