GMC women run best race of the season at Albany State University

The GMC Junior College Cross Country team battle the heat and delivered their best race of the season at the Willie Laster Invitational hosted by Albany College on 28 Sept.

In the women's race, a third member of the team qualified for the NJCAA National Championships.  Shundrenna Harris joined her teammates Abigail Gash and Treeaunna Whiting who had previously had qualified.  All three led the team, who finished in 6th place overall in the race.  Jessica Sinno and Anneestelle Montalbano finished up the scoring runners for the women's team.  Almost every runner ran a season's best.  Head Coach Rob Sherwood said, "This team is so much fun.  It has been enjoyable to see each runner improve through this season."  There is one race left, the GCAA/NJCAA Region 17 Championships that GMC will host at Council Farms on 16 October.  GMC was ranked 8th in the most recent NJCAA Division III rankings.

The team will compete next at the GCAA/NJCAA Region 17 Championships that GMC is hosting at Council Farms on 16 October at 5:30 pm.
