GMC JC Rifle Team Goes International

GMC JC Rifle team competed the International University Air Rifle Match during the winter break. The match included 12 Teams from across the US and University of Fribourg form Switzerland. The team finished #5 and the Top Shooter for the Bulldogs was Alyssa Kiser which shot a 381.

The Bulldogs have had a successful season thus far and this event was no different. The Bulldogs zeroed in on their targets with team posting a 1420 good enough for 5th place. Led by Alyssa Kiser 381. Analy Camarillo 359 (13th overall), Nicole Barich 346 (18th), and Josh Vaccianna 334 (22nd). All Bulldog shooters finished in the upper half of the field in the 59 person event.  

As has been the case all year Alyssa led the way for the Bulldogs. She was tied for the lead after three rounds shooting 96, 95, 95. While she posted a consistent 95 in the fourth round, Ty Suthard of University of San Francisco shot a near perfect 99 to snatch the victory. Alyssa ended up tied with Aliah Lloyd of Grand Valley State, but finished one spot behind as Lloyd carded one more 10. Alyssa who just competed for a spot in the US Junior Olympic team, and is waiting for those results was excited bot her competition and felt good about her effort.   

The team has a busy week coming up as they have the Western Conference #4 match on January 14 &16 and the NRA Sectionals on January 18. Go Bulldogs!!!!!!
