Kirk Kayden comes to GMC with 20 plus years of coaching experience. He started his coaching career at the high school level in Ohio at Tiffin Columbian, then started a Junior College golf program at Terra State in Ohio from 1999-2001. He went on to be an Assistant Coach at Penn State from 2001-2004. Kirk became a Head Coach at Austin Peay State in The Ohio Valley Conference for ten seasons from 2004-2014, followed by his most recent stop for seven years at Mercer University as the Head Men’s Coach from 2015-2021.

Coach Kayden played college golf at the University of Toledo in the Mid-American Conference and was a three-year letter winner. He won the 1991 Ohio High School State Golf Championships along with numerous Junior and Amateur Tournaments. He has coached numerous All-Conference players, has had two players play in the D1 National Championships, and coached 2023 PGA Tour Player Erik Barnes at Austin Peay. Coach Kayden also works for Next Collegiate Student Athlete (NCSA) as a Recruiting Golf Coach.

Kirk lives in Macon with his wife of 20 years, Melissa, and his daughter, Maddie, who is a freshman at Mount de Sales Academy.. They enjoy spending time with their dogs, Penny & Cali, and watching college athletics.
