GMC’s Alyssa Kiser Qualifies for NRA Nationals

GMC Bulldog, Alyssa Kiser added to her medal collection by taking first in both Small Bore and Air Rifle NRA Sectionals held at University of North Georgia on January 18, 2020. This accomplishment qualified Alyssa for a spot in the upcoming NRA Nationals to be held in March.

Kiser is no stranger to success, she was a standout high school air rifle shooter at LaFayette High School and has made an immediate impact on the Bulldogs team. Her score of 576 in air rifle earned her gold medal.  She followed up that performance with a personal best in small bore, a discipline she only began shooting this year. Alyssa's score of 535 was good enough to earn another gold medal for the day.

Coach Mary Ellen Eaton proudly commented, "I look for greater accomplishments in rifle for this shooter, she has much more to offer in marksmanship for the future."

The team will compete in another match this week and begin to prepare for the Georgia State Championship on February 8. The NRA Intercollegiate National Championship will be held March 21-24 at Fort Benning, GA.
