GMC FOOTBALL SENDS SEVEN TO THE NEXT LEVEL

GMC FOOTBALL SENDS SEVEN TO THE NEXT LEVEL

Georgia Military College's Football Program has had hundreds of their student-athletes continue their careers at all levels of college football. The latest NCAA signing period this past December witnessed the Bulldogs continue their tradition of excellence!  As GMC Football enters its 30th year, these seven individuals that signed brought the total to 580 Bulldogs who have moved on to the next level.  These young men are a shining example of what hard work, perseverance, and dedication can obtain.  Because of their hard work, these individuals are able to continue their academic and athletic careers.  More importantly, six out of these seven signees have already graduated and finished their time at GMC in less than two years.

These signees were led by Byron Young, Defensive End, who was nationally recruited.  Young entered GMC's doors as a walk-on.  His dedication in the classroom and playing field garnered him offers from nearly every SEC and several ACC teams.  Young chose to sign with the University of Tennessee where is considered one of the top pass rushers in the junior college ranks, the #1 weak side Defense End, and the #11 overall junior college player in the nation by 247 Sports.  Joining Young in the SEC will be Marcellas Dial and Isaiah Norris, both Corner Backs, signed with the University of South Carolina.  Offensive Lineman Anthony Belton chose to take his talents to the ACC and North Carolina State University.

Joining their fellow Bulldogs during the December signing period were Jjay McAfree, Rod'Darius Gattison, and Chris Williams.  McAfee, Wide Receiver, will be taking his talents to Statesboro and theGeorgia Southern Eagles.  Gattison is headed to the mountains of North Carolina where he will play Corner Back for the Catamounts of Western Carolina University.  Williams, Wide Receiver, chose to take his talents to Columbia, SC and play for Benedict College.

Interim Head Coach, Rob Manchester commented, "We are extremely excited for these individuals that signed and are moving on to their new colleges!  These young men are the epitome of what GMC can provide for those that come in and trust the process.  Their work ethic, not only on the playing field, but more importantly in the classroom has allowed them to live out their dreams of playing at the next level."  He continued, "We believe the curriculum, Cadet Corp, and the rigors of GMC's process is the main impetus why colleges at the highest level come and recruit our players.  We look forward to watching these individual's careers in the future."
