Georgia Military College JC Men’s Soccer Earns Two Big Wins

The Georgia Military College JC Bulldogs Men's Soccer team earned two big wins over the weekend. On Friday, the #15 ranked team took down #14 Louisburg College 2-1. They picked up a 1-0 won on Sunday over the #6 ranked NJCAA Division 1 team Daytona State College. These wins should move the Bulldogs up in the rankings.

On Friday, Nicolas Milot scored early to give the Bulldogs the lead, but the Louisburg Hurricanes kept fighting. The Bulldogs needed big defensive plays by Alfie Rule and Renan Fiore to keep the lead. Four minutes into the second half Adrian Gallegos scored off an assist from brother Jose Gallegos bring the score to 2-1. The Hurricanes put on a late charge and scored one goal, but it would not be enough.

On Sunday, the Bulldogs took on Daytona State College. The Bulldogs came out ready to play and outshot the Falcons 17-3. The first 45 minutes of the game was exciting, with each team held scoreless at the half. In the second half, the Bulldogs got on the board at the 55-minute mark when JD Herrera scored off an assist from Mohamed Jasseh. That goal proved to be enough as the Bulldogs defense shut down the Falcons for the remainder of the game.  Sophomores Herrera, Milot, Fiore, and Molina led the team to a great victory.

The Bulldogs will be back in action on September 29 when they travel to Spartanburg Methodist College for a 2:00 pm game. For more information about the Bulldogs and the GMC JC Athletics programs, please visit our website at www.gmcbulldogs.com.
