GMC JC Women’s Soccer Beats Andrew College 6-2

The Georgia Military College JC Women's Soccer team traveled to Andrew College and came home with a 6-2 win. JahNiyah Phillip led the way for the Bulldogs with three goals.

The Bulldogs came ready to play, scoring three goals in the first half. JahNiyah Phillip scored her first of the game just three minutes in, followed by another nine minutes later. Cheyenne Burgamy scored off a pass from Madison Nimmons to give the Bulldogs a 3-0 lead at halftime.

In the second half, the Tigers fought back and were able to score two goals. The Bulldogs kept the pressure on to score three more. Phillip picked up her third goal of the game. Giselle Funes scored off a pass from Madison Sims, and Nimmons picked up her team-leading fifth goal of the season to close out the game.

Coach Courtney Morgan commented, "Our team played well. We moved the ball around like we have been practicing but had some unfortunate mistakes, and Andrew capitalized on them. Hopefully, during the next week, we can learn from our mistakes and have a great game against South Georgia State College."

The Bulldogs have a much-deserved week-long break and will return to action on October 8 when they travel to South Georgia State College for a 4:00 pm matchup. For more information about the Bulldogs and the GMC JC Athletics program, visit www.gmcbulldogs.com.
