GMC Cross Country Finishes Well at GCAA Championship

Georgia Military College Men's and Women's Cross Country teams competed at the GCAA Conference Championships/NJCAA Region XVII Championship on the afternoon of 27 October 2021. Daniel Turnipseed 7th place finish helped the Men's team to a 3rd place finish. Jordan Printer was the top Bulldog in the women's race and guided the women to a 2nd place finish.

The women's team ran first with a 5k race in great temperatures. Jordan Printer (Citrus Springs, FL) was the highest placed GMC runner with a 7th place finish. Zealand Wasson (Kahuku, HI) finished in 8th place, Nova Kroll (Pittsburgh, PA) 11th, Paige White (McCrae, GA) 14th, and Piper Stephens (Melbourne, FL) 16th.

The men's team had numerous runners absent due to military requirements, family requirements, or illness. Despite this, the men's team ran well and finished in 3rd place. Daniel Turnipseed (Blythwood, SC) finished in the top spot for the Bulldogs today with a time of 29:39 and 7thplace, followed by Christopher Pombo (Brewster, MA) 10th, Jacob Cain (Brandon, FL) 12th, Aidan Garcia (Durham, CT) 13th and Brandon Williams (Cadwell, GA) in 18th place.

The Bulldogs have run at Council Farms three times this season, and they will run one more time as GMC will host the NJCAA DIII National Championships on 13 November. If the runners continue to improve their times, as they did over the last two races of the year, they should be in a great position to represent the school well at home for the National Championship.
