The Georgia Military College (GMC) men's golf team finished 12th  out of 13 teams at the Hurricane Invitational held at Doublegate Country Club in Albany, Georgia this past Monday and Tuesday. The course played over 7,000 yards with the tournament field enduring a long rain delay on Day 1, which led the event being shortened to 36 holes.

The Bulldog men shot a combined 645 (310/335) over the par-72 course. GMC was one of only two junior colleges that competed in this event with the rest of the schools being made up of NCAA Division 2 and NAIA institutions.

GMC's squad was led by Sophomore Tanner Casey (74/83) and Freshman Luke Ninneman (78/79), who tied for 47th overall at +13.

Head Coach Josh Miller stated, "The first round was a story of what could have been as we were looking really strong through about 14 holes, but we did not finish the round the way we had hoped. Round 2 was a day where just about everyone struggled and the course played much tougher. Both Tanner and Luke both played well for us and had Tanner gotten a few more breaks go his way in the 2nd round, he would've turned in another solid round. He's hitting the ball the best I've seen since he's been here and Luke grinded out a couple of solid scores for us. We will use this as a learning experience and quickly move on to prepare for our next event."

The Bulldogs will look to bounce back and tee it up next in the Ron Marshall Spring Fling at Goose Pond Colony Resort in Alabama on March 15th - 17th.
