Bulldogs go 4-0 over Spring Break

The Bulldogs (26-20) beat Piedmont College JV 10-1 in seven innings on Wednesday at Demorest, Ga after a six-run explosion in the seventh inning.  

The Bulldogs scored in the seventh on an RBI double by Danielle Downs, an RBI double by Jordan Crews, a groundout by Caitlin Collins, an RBI single by Kirsten Albright, and a two-run single by Amber Green. Taylor Little put herself in scoring position with two extra-base hits for the Bulldogs. She singled in the third inning and doubled in the first and seventh innings.  Madason Messer was a workhorse in the circle for the Bulldogs. Madason Messer allowed one earned run, three hits and one walk while striking out five over seven innings of work.

In Game two , The Bulldogs jumped out to an early lead on Piedmont College JV and captured a 13-5 victory.  Eight runs in the first three innings allowed the Bulldogs to put the game away early.  

A two-run double by Danielle Downs, an error, a two-run triple by Jade Moncrief, and an RBI single by Sara Alderman during the first inning and a solo home run by Taylor Little and an RBI single by Jordan Crews in the second inning supplied the early offense for the Bulldogs. Danielle Downs racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Bulldogs.  The Bulldogs easily handled Piedmont College JV pitching as six hitters combined for 14 hits, 10 RBIs and 12 runs scored. Three runs in the bottom of the fourth helped Piedmont College JV close its deficit to 8-5. An RBI single by Hayden Savage, an error, and an RBI single by Kory Best fueled Piedmont College JV's comeback but it fell short as Kaitlyn Moore ended the inning by getting Avery Migues to ground out.

GMC vs. Thomas University JV

The Bulldogs beat Thomas University JV on Thursday 13-3 at Thomasville, Ga in five innings. The Bulldogs scored six runs in the fourth on the Bulldogs scored in the fourth on a three-run home run by Taylor Little, an RBI double by Danielle Downs, and a two-run home run by Jordan Crews. Taylor Little racked up four RBIs on three hits for the Bulldogs.  The Bulldogs never trailed after scoring three runs in the first on two singles and an RBI triple by Jordan Crews.

In Game two, Taylor Little brought home the go-ahead run to give the Bulldogs the lead in the seventh inning, as the Bulldogs hung on to beat Thomas University JV 5-2.  Morgan Tillman singled to get on base in the seventh. She then went from first to second on a groundout by Jenni McDaniel.  

Ansley Wilbanks paced the Bulldogs at the plate. Ansley Wilbanks went 2-4 and scored two runs. She singled in the sixth and seventh innings.  Danielle Downs was a workhorse in the circle for the Bulldogs. Danielle Downs allowed no earned runs, three hits and no walks while striking out three over seven innings of work.  The bottom of the third saw Thomas University JV take an early lead, 2-0 when Ortiz kicked things off for Thomas University JV with a single but the Bulldogs responded by scoring 2 in the 6th and 3 in the 7th to complete the sweep. 

The Bulldogs (26-20) are back in action on Thursday, April 7th when they compete against conference foe East Georgia on the road.  The game has a scheduled 4pm first pitch.
