GMC Softball is Poised and Ready for the Conference Tournament

The GMC Softball team will be getting play started for the GCAA Conference Softball Tournament FRIDAY night at 7pm at Strong Rock Softball Complex in Locust Grove.  Due to the possible bad weather that is forecasted for tomorrow the Conference has decided to push back all games one day.  All game times will be the same as you see above but will start one day later.

The season that has seen many records is all coming to a head as they make a run for the National Tournament.  They finished 32-22 on the year, which is tied for the most wins in a season for the softball program and with that, they have earned the #2 seed which is the highest in program history as well.

They will play against the winner of the #3 Darton College and #6 Andrew College game.  The Bulldogs split (1-1) with both the teams during conference play this season.  "This weekend is what you play your whole season for, the chance to win the conference tournament and represent our region at the D1 softball Championships in Utah.  We've worked hard to get to where we are today and are excited about the opportunity in front of us", stated Head Coach Ashley Bunn.

Entering the tournament the Bulldogs have the highest team batting average in conference play at .393 and is 2nd in team pitching era in conference play at 2.12.  The Bulldogs have had many records broken this year for season and career records.  The hitting barrage has been led by Kiley Rediger with a .394 batting average and 56 RBI's to lead the team.  Not far behind is Jordan Crews and Tayler Little with a .370 BA, 44 RBI's and .356 BA, 13 HR's and 33 RBI's respectively.
