Softball makes History today by Winning the Conference Championship to Advance to Nationals

History was made again today for GMC Softball (35-22) as the Bulldogs jump on South Georgia College early and never look back as they win running away, 8-3 to advance to the NJCAA Division I Softball National Championship.  Four first-inning runs helped the Bulldogs jump out with the early lead against South Georgia State College at Strong Rock in Locust Grove in Sunday's play.

Jordan Crews racked up three RBIs on three hits for the Bulldogs with a double in the third inning and a single in the first and fifth innings.  Jade Moncrief and Kristen Albright provided the fire power as well as they both pounded out home runs in the Bulldog win.

A three-run fourth inning helped bring South Georgia State College within four with a wild pitch and a two-run single by Chancey starting off  the South Georgia State College rally, but Madason Messer got Latner to fly out to end the inning.  Madason turned in another solid pitching performance against a very well coached team as she only gave up 3 earned runs in the 7 innings pitched.

The Bulldogs will have some time now to prepare and get ready for the National Tournament that will be held on May 18-21st in St. George, Utah.  There will be further information as we draw closer on how you can watch your Bulldogs make a run at a National Championship.
