GMC Women's Soccer to Host First Playoff Game

Behind the strength of Jasmine Musick and her three goals, the JC Women's Soccer team (6-9) secured their spot and made GMC JC Women's Soccer history in beating South Georgia State College, 5-2 for the play-in game for the GCAA Conference Championship.  This is the first time in program history that the team will host a playoff play in game at home.  The GCAA #3 Lady Bulldogs will be kicking off against South Georgia State College again on Tuesday, October 25th here at home at 4:30pm.  We need all fans to come out and support this year's team and their late season push into the playoffs.  They have won 3 of their last 4 games and are playing some of their best soccer of the season.

In their prior two games against South Georgia State College they have won 7-1 and 5-2 respectively but Head Coach Country Morgan says, "We are definitely not going into this game with over confidence as our mission remains the same...a GCAA Conference Championship.  To do reach that goal we have to first take care of this game.  Anything can happen in the playoffs."  The team is playing some of its best soccer of the year and Coach Morgan attributes that to, "Their hard work is beginning to pay off and the girls are now owning the goals that were set at the beginning of the year."    The team has spoken internally about this time of year…to win 3 games in a row to get to the District Championships and on to the National Championship.

Come on out tomorrow and attend the FREE athletic event, the GMC JC Women's Soccer team as they compete for a third time against South Georgia State College at 4:30pm at Robertson Field to advance to the second round of the conference championships.
