GMC ends road trip with win over Catawba Reserves

The Georgia Military College Women's Soccer team ended their weekend road trip with a 6-1 victory over Catawba Reserves. Adisa Nwawel started the game where she ended on Friday by scoring two goals in the opening half. Mary Kathryn Whitney scored her first goal of the season as time expired in the first half of play.

Catawba Reserves tried to mount a comeback by opening the second half with a score but GMC quickly put that comeback to an end, with Adisa Nwawel scoring two more goals and also being awarded a penalty kick. Freshman Katelynn Bowers converted the penalty kick for her first collegiate goal and put the GMC Bulldogs up 6-1.

This win puts the GMC Women's Soccer team at 2-0 early in the season. Adisa Nwawel's four goal game gives her seven goals with only two games into the season.

The GMC Women's Soccer team will open up their home schedule with a game against Oxford College of Emory University this coming Wednesday, August 29, at 8:00pm. Come out to the John W. Robertson Soccer Field and cheer on you Bulldogs.
