The Georgia Military College Women's Soccer team defeated South Georgia by a score of 2-0. The win clinches a spot in the GCAA title game where GMC will take on Gordon in a repeat of last year's title game.
The scoring against South Georgia was opened by GMC's Mary Katherine Whitney in the 19th minute off an assist from Adisa Nwawel. The second goal of the night came from Aysia Broersma in the 33rd minute with the assist coming from Cecilia Graham.
In the second half, the GMC Bulldogs withstood several counterattacks from South Georgia but the Bulldogs held strong. Cassidy Norman kept a clean sheet and helped lead GMC to their third consecutive GCAA conference title game.
GMC takes on Gordon on Friday October 19, 2018. This game is the final home game for the sophomores. GMC then travels to South Georgia on Tuesday October, 23rd for the final game of the season before traveling to Gordon on Thursday, October 25th for the GCAA title game.
