GMC beats Gordon in sophomore’s final home game

Georgia Military College's women's soccer team was successful in sending its sophomores off in their final home with a victory while wearing their GMC jersey for the final home game.  GMC defeated Gordon in the final home game for this season.

In the first half, the GMC defense withstood numerous attacks by Gordon. Sophomore goalkeeper Cassidy Norman stepped up and made several big saves to keep Gordon scoreless in the first half. Going into halftime, neither team had scored.

The second half saw GMC break the 0-0 deadlock when Abbie George assisted on a goal by Adisa Nwawel in the 84th minute. Following the goal, GMC's defense stepped up to secure the 1-0 victory.

GMC goes on the road now to play South Georgia on Tuesday, October 23rd at 4pm for their final regular season game of the year. From there GMC will face Gordon at 7pm on Thursday, October 25th in the GCAA conference finals for a chance to represent region 17 in the districts competition.
