GMC Women's Cross Country finishes in 7th place at MGA Inviatational.

The Georgia Military College Junior College Women's Cross Country team traveled to Macon on Saturday, 8 September to compete in the Middle Georgia State University Invitational at the Georgia Premier Cross Country Course.  The weather was warm, and the competition strong as the Bulldogs ran their second race of the season.  After a slightly disappointing showing on 31 August in Valdosta, the team was looking to improve on their individual times, as well as team placings.

The Women's team ran second and were paced by Sophomore Jhakira Glover with a time of 24:45 good for 27th place.  Glover was joined as scoring runners by Kaitlyn Alvarez (30th), Jessica Sinno (52nd), Laryssa Melendrez (59th) and Sasha Soto (60th).  The women's team finished in 7th place for the race and finished in 2nd place for the NJCAA schools present.  "Jhakira Glover is our team leader," stated Coach Sherwood.  "The other women look to her for leadership and encouragement.  She is helping the team get better every training session."

The team has this weekend off ahead of the SCAD-Atlanta Invitational in Newnan, GA on 22 September.
